“ABOVE”

I love water, I love to swim. Most of my swimmimg is in an indoor pool these days, swimmimg laps for exercise. I began to think about how I could incorporate the changing reflections on the surface of the water and the dance of the light underwater into one of my heavily-textured paintings. This painting and its companion piece “BELOW” are the result.

THIS found a home

I’ve been asked if I’m sad to part with my paintings and my answer is always NO! Sending work out into the world to have its own life, to become a part of someone else’s daily life is an honor (not a great way to support yourself, but an honor nonetheless). When the people who are drawn to a work seem thoughtful, intelligent and kind, it’s that much better. A couple who had just moved to the area saw my painting “THIS” when it was hanging in the window at my shared studio/gallery space in Glencoe. They thought about it, asked about it, came back to see it and bought it. Here it is in their home:
